Dr. Kevin Silberberg is Superintendent of the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District one of the largest PreK-8 school districts in California. Appointed to the position in 2013, Dr. Silberberg is directing an ambitious comprehensive reform effort designed to meet rigorous academic standards and narrow the achievement gap for thousands of students. The results have been outstanding! Dr. Silberberg has had a varied career as a teacher, “National Blue Ribbon” principal, superintendent, university faculty member, as well as chairing the “Digital Learning” subcommittee for the California Department of Education. Currently he is the Chair of the Technology Learning Group within the Association of California School Administrators combining his experience using technology from the boardroom to the classroom. Along with an Educational Technology Doctorate from Pepperdine University, his focus has been, and will always be, utilizing 21st century tools to increase success and decrease student failure. Dr. Silberberg’s current focus is on digital dashboards for superintendents, principals, teachers and students with a focus on learning analytics. Dr. Silberberg has received numerous awards for leadership from school district’s, associations, state and federal departments of education and this year was named the 2016 California Outstanding Instructional Leader from ASCD and the 2016 “Technology Administrator of the Year for his region from the Association of California Administrators. Dr. Silberberg received his B.A. and M.A. from Point Loma College, and an Ed.D. from Pepperdine University.
